How To Submit Product Ideas/Innovations

Bard has a long history of integrity in working with those who submit products for our consideration. We support long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with established procedures that ensure fairness and provide for openness between Bard and those who submit product ideas. To make sure your ideas receive prompt and thorough attention and are properly protected consider the following when submitting a product to Bard.

How to submit a product idea

Prepare a general description that provides enough information for Bard to determine if it could be an appropriate addition to our product lines.

Secure a non-confidential submission form from a Bard Urological Business Development representative. Submit it with your general description. If more than one person owns the concept, list all the owners on the submission form. We must have this form to begin our evaluation process.

Following a preliminary review, if both parties are interested in moving forward, Bard will sign a confidentiality agreement to allow for the exchange of more detailed information.

Bard Urological's Business Development and Research & Development associates will examine your idea thoroughly and provide information concerning next steps.

Before submitting a product idea

In an initial submission, no information is considered confidential. To protect your product idea, we recommend that you first apply for patent protection. Please consult an attorney who specializes in intellectual property.

Bard Urological might be aware of other products or concepts that could have impact on our decision to adopt your product idea. For reasons of fairness, Bard does not disclose that information. We assume no obligation to protect, retain or hold confidential any information disclosed in any submission or in conversations prior to a formal written agreement between you and Bard.
